Osito Milonguero is a traditional Encuentro in Berlin for tango friends from all over the world who share a common love for tango music and dancing in the Milonguero style.

To make this possible, we want to create a space where everyone feels comfortable and can dance for hours. We have the best conditions for this in the event hall of the historic Peter Edel cultural centre:
The room has good acoustics and excellent wooden parquet flooring. With a well-adjusted sound system and the tantalising music compilation of experienced Encuentro DJs, we want to tempt you to dance for a weekend until your feet can fly.

The name Osito means bear or teddy bear and is a tribute to Berlin’s heraldic animal. But the sight of him also makes us want to give him a big hug. And what would tango be without Abrazo?

About us and our philosophy

We – that’s Renée, Sam, Jan-Henrik and Helle – are long-time enthusiasts of the European Tango and Encuentro scene. We love dancing in close embrace and are convinced that a considerate co-operation on the dance floor without lunging figures is the best prerequisite for everyone to be able to devote themselves completely to their dance and their partner. When we dance, we want everyone to feel comfortable. That’s why we attach great importance to respectful and friendly behaviour and expect that the usual códigos are respected on and off the dance floor:

Invitation by Mirada and Cabeceo
Eye contact with the next leader before entering the dance floor
Keeping your own place in the ronda, no jumping between the rondas
No sweeping movements such as large boleos or planeos when the dance floor is full
Change of dance partners and curiosity to dance with strangers
A smile for everyone
